Factory exhaust replacement and custom made exhaust systems

Components Of The Exhaust System

The exhaust system plays an important part in your vehicle. It ensures the gases are directed away from the vehicle and providing a quiet ride, while other parts help your car run smooth and even save on gas.

  • Exhaust Manifold

An exhaust manifold collects the exhaust gases from the engine's cylinders and sends them into one pipe to be expelled outward.

  • Piping

The metal tubing joining the various parts of the exhaust system together. The exhaust pipe is heat resistant and some come in stainless to right against rust.

  • Muffler

Mufflers are responsible for muffling the sound created by a vehicle’s engine. Engines need to generate a ton of power, and, as a result, they create numerous pulsating sounds that vibrate through the exhaust valves. They dampen the sound using multiple chambers inside the muffler.

  • Oxygen Sensors

The oxygen sensor is one of the key pieces of your vehicle's emissions system and is a component that monitors the amount of oxygen that's in your car's exhaust stream, and checks efficiency and confirms the catalytic converters are functioning properly.

  • Catalytic Converters

A catalytic converter is an exhaust emission control device that reduces toxic gases and pollutants in exhaust gas from the engine into less-toxic pollutants by "catalyzing". Overtime these can get clogged and can make your engine run rough and cause severe engine damage if not replaced.

  • Resonator

Resonators help eliminate a sound wave at a given frequency. A simple way to explain this would be that sound waves are just that – a wave with a peak and trough. When these sound waves of a particular frequency are bouncing off the interior of a resonator, the peak of a wave would meet the trough of another wave of the same size and essentially cancel each other out; thus eliminating that frequency(sound).

What The Exhaust System Does

Exhaust Systems reduce noise and remove harmful fumes away from your vehicle, allowing you and your passengers a safe, enjoyable ride.

Redirect Dangerous Fumes Away

The role of an exhaust system is not just to dampen sound, but also to guide dangerous fumes away from your vehicle. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless chemical that may escape from a neglected or rusted out exhaust system. If the carbon monoxide is breathed in it could cause incredibly severe health hazards. For your safety as well as the safety of your passengers, it is necessary to have your exhaust system inspected and serviced if necessary.

Signs If Your Exhaust System Needs Repair

When to get your muffler looked at:

  • Loud thumps, growls or bangs
  • Signs of rust
  • Smoke smell inside the car
  • Vibrations in your muffler when stopped
  • When your muffler is dangling lower than normal

Why Service Is Important

Identifying indications of corrosion, wear and damages can prevent cranks and holes in your exhaust system. Many states and cities call for emissions testing to register your vehicle, therefore, a proper working exhaust is needed to pass emissions tests. An effective working exhaust can also assist in protecting the environment from unsafe emissions released into the atmosphere.
